Current Activities & Programs
- The Workshops and meetings by the local government functionaries has become an important activity at the Sai hall. Group Panchayat Kanhe.
- Under the auspices of the Vadgaon Maval training in use of modern technology was imparted to 150 farmers . Panchayat Samittee maval under the auspices of the national Gram Swarajya Yojana 2018-19 took a two day training for the 153 newly elected women members on various government schemes
- Outreach programmes enabled multi-faceted social support to this rural environment by way of facilities for holding NCC Camps and NSS college camps where the youth got exposed to rural work.
- Rehabilitation of Visually handicapped women The Trust has all along laid special emphasis on the rehabilitation of visually handicapped girls/women. A recent survey of the Blind in Maval Taluka covering 48 villages by the staff of the project, has further added to the rehabilitation of the blind through linkages with the National Association for the Blind and the local grassroots government functionaries . The emphasis has been on skill development of our visually handicapped women by all year long training in cane wire bag making. It has beenimparted to many and has been one of our most dedicated outreach programme for the visually blind women. For some it has become a means of their livelihood.
- Bal Sanskar Shibbir This summer SBSD had conducted an in house fifteen day residential workshop for 64 children which had 52 -boys and12 girls. The popularity of the Shibbir has grown and girls too have started attending the same. The Trust has extended support as it serves the village children in getting cultural and religious sanskar which may facilitate change in the children’s lives through the haripath and different shlokas and simple teachings of the Bhagwad Geeta. In addition, taught children to respect their parents, elders and obedience to all.
- Guru Purnima Celebrations- The annual event felicitates teachers who have dedicated their life for the education of underprivileged children and their efforts have prevented school drop outs.. It also includes those besides teachers who have contributed towards the development of their rural students and also meritorious students is celebrated annually
- Continuation of Scholarship Programme which is jointly supported by the Kotak Foundation and the Dholera Foundation which is given to as Merit cum Needy Scholarship to encourage the local school children to be retained in schools and prevent their dropping out of Schools. This is done through scholarships and by providing books /stationary etc and also to support deserving schools which have been surveyed by SBSD for our future planning.
- Giants Group Of Chowpatty support the Scholarship Programme by providing school notebooks and stationary to the deserving children identified from the schools.
- School Cycle Project for girls The Giants Group of Chowpatty has further encouraged the girl child in schools through their Cycle Distribution Project which under the auspices of Sai Baba Seva Dham distributed 20 bicycles to girls from two schools,.
- Medical Camps for health of women and also for cancer detection camps for women have been conducted .An Eye camp too was conducted at the site.
- The Annual Foundation Day is celebrated on 9 December with a mandir programme followed by cultural programmes by the children from the schools and the local populace joins in the celebrations. The highlight is the release of the souvenir MAMTA which reflects the activities undertaken during the year at Sai Baba Seva Dham.. Over the years SBSD Project has made a mark in the social fabric of the local populace.
