Past Activities & Programs

  • A large  polio camp was organized in collaboration with Pushkar Jain Yuva Sangh & Parsanben Navandas Ramji Shah Society, Pushpanjali Foundation, K.E.M. (Hospital).  Polio Camp held for the corrective surgery & Rehabilitation of Polio patients (Disabled).
  • Workshop of Sarpanchs from Maval Taluka, where they had been given the training & lectures, regarding how to conduct Gram panchayat & their activities.
  • At  Guru Purnima Celebration,:- Gurupornima festival is celebrated every year at Saibaba Seva Dham to honor Guru ( Teacher ) and Shishya (student ) relation and tradition. Deserving students who have  passed SSC on merit from the vicinity schools and their teachers get felicitated on an occasion.
  •   . Making available Sai hall & other buildings to Panchayat Samiti for their workshop, Shibir & Seminar. Trust arranged ‘Gram Sabha’  in nearby villages for information of various Government Schemes of Rural Development.
  •   Sai Leela Ahar Training Center was providing canteen requirements of snacks,food tea and coffee to the  patients and inmates of Sai Baba Seva Dham.
  • On a regular basis N.S.S. / N.C.C. Camps/Workshop/Seminars are conducted. During this year, a State level N.S.S Camp  including college of Mumbai, Pune, Kolhapur, Nagpur, Marathwada University, SNDT & Various N.S.S. Educational Camps of Various colleges of Mumbai, Pune & SNDT University, Jai Hind College of Mumbai , Teachers training college for deaf and several other educational Institutions camp were held at Sai Baba Seva  Dham. These camps, workshops & meetings provided opportunities for the youth to be sensitized to the problems and the realities of rural India and were made aware of social problems affecting families.
  • Natyashala Training Workshop –In collaboration with Natyashala Charitable Trust ,  Radha Kaliandas Daryanani Charitable Trust was  giving training in music, rhythmic movement & creative dramatic to the disabled & rural children & teachers at Sai Baba Seva Dham, for the development, improvement of disabled children which help in their personality development.
  • Giants Group of Chowpatty in collaboration with SBSD project started  Rain  Water Harvesting Project in 2005  and 2006  has resulted in the charging of the bore well which supports  supply of water for large number of  students during camps and for devotees  on  pilgrimage taking anight halt at Sai Baba Seva Dham.
  • Scholarship for the School Children Under the auspices of the Kotak and Dholera Foundations respectively scholarships was distributed to meritorious students  of nearly 10 schools of Maval taluka since 2005.
  •  School Cycle Project for girls   FICCI-FLO Mumbai Chapter under the auspices of Sai Baba Seva Dham  distributed  48 bicycles to girls from six schools, an effort towards retention of the girl students in the schools at Maval Taluka,  and to ensure their high school education as access to their schools which is about 4-5 kms away from their homes..It has  helped in retention of girls in high school…
  • School Toilet Project    FICCI-FLO Mumbai Chapter under the auspices of Sai Baba Seva Dham   ensured the construction of a toilet at the Ahirwade  Zillah Parishad School which had about eighty children… We went a step further for the gram Panchayat to extend the water supply to the location of the  toilet and also to be responsible for its maintenance as required
  • Women Empowerment Programmes had tried to reach out to various mahila mandals. Some of the highlights were the   initiation of a sanitary making project with training, The Trust had over a time facilitated health  camps on cancer,  and those  related to  gynecological problems   with hospitals and  organizations working on health. Free Legal aid resource was made available for the women. added a new dimension this year. The focus is on empowering blind women who are living in the communities or in other organizations through a skill development programme of making cane wire bags of different sizes and assisting them in its marketing for now
  •  Visually Handicapped girls programme Over the years the blind girls were trained in cane wire bag making  and marketed by the Trust.. Their care and health issues were  taken care of by the Trust till they were  rehabilitated through marriage with other handicapped persons. Their welfare has been of utmost concern to the Trust. In rehabilitating the  visually handicapped   of  not only other  organizations but in providng livelihood skills of these women from the open communities. through a skill development programme of making cane wire bags and assisting them in its marketing…
  • Rotary Club of Juhu West in 2011 inaugurated the Sai Mangal Hall as  a multi-  purpose community Hall Sai Baba Seva dham enables the Trust and the NGOs who are residing on the site as well as other groups to conduct training programmes for their beneficiaries, and for lectures and seminars for the college youth through NSS and NCC camps which are held on our campus. It is popular venue for meetings of the local population, be it, women’s self help groups or members of the gram panchayat or local self government functionaries who discuss rural development programmes. The Hall also serves as a marriage hall for the under privileged population living nearby. The dindis/varkaris on their pilgrimage from various districts are given rest and shelter facilities in the Sai Hall.
  •  Gaoshala Sai Baba Seva Dham runs a small cow shed since many years, primarily for the devotees who come to the temple.  During the year two calves were added to the gaoshala.
  •  Sai Baba Temple The Sai Baba Temple at the Campus is the epicentre of Sai Baba Seva Dham. Its Foundation Day on 9 December is marked with festivities’ for   two days. The Mandir programme of Saptah, Aarti, Palakhi and Bhandara with over 2000 devotees coming for ‘Darshan’ is an event of the year for the local population of Maval.  During the year, various festivals and cultural programmes are conducted by the children on the Campus which reflects our motto of all religions is one and in service of humanity.
